Development Internship

 

 

Position Summary:

The development intern will provide overall support to the department directors and collaborate with the entire team to ensure SPAC donors and members enjoy a memorable summer season. This individual will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development department of a nonprofit performing arts center, with exposure to areas such as membership giving, major gifts and underwriting, corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grants, and special events. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily administrative support. 
  • Production of donor reports for cultivation and stewardship. 
  • Customer service to high-level members at SPAC performances, including check-in and cultivating a welcoming environment in members-only spaces.  
  • Assistance with coordination of events and sponsor activities. 
  • Support with donor research and communication. 
  • Writing tasks, such as drafting letters, emails, and/or grant and sponsorship proposals.   
  • Other tasks as assigned. 

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be kind, conscientious, and mature undergraduate students with an interest in fundraising, arts administration, and/or nonprofit management who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented, organized, efficient, and able to proficiently use Microsoft Office tools.   

Students with experience and/or interest in the arts are encouraged to apply; prior experience in customer service is a plus. Please note that while this is a 40-hour/week position, working evenings and weekends will often be required.
