Summer Intern Team 2024
Meet our summer interns:
Natalie Bean
Programming Intern
Hi all! My name is Natalie. You can call me Nat, Nat Bean or Natalie. I grew up just a few towns over and am from a very musically motivated family. I graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 2019 and was a big part of their musical arts programs. I was raised playing the piano, guitar, violin and saxophone and had the pleasure of being concert mistress for many years in my Highschool and Chamber Orchestras. Despite being encouraged to study something in the arts realm in undergrad, I graduated with my Bachelors in 2022 from The University at Buffalo, and studied Law, Psychology and Criminology, was the treasurer and co-creator of IGNITE, (Women in Politics Club). I also completed a Micro-Credential in topics of Diversity, Crime and Punishment in the USA. Currently, I am working on getting my master’s from the University at Albany in Public Administration and Policy, concentrating on Public and Non-Profit Management. I have many diverse interests and feel lucky to have found myself back in my roots at SPAC as a programming intern, every step along the way has directed me here!
Gabrielle Deck
Creative Assistant
I am originally from Averill Park, NY, and I’m a rising senior at Russell Sage College in Albany. At Russell Sage I study Graphic + Media Design and I have an associate’s degree in digital media from Hudson Valley Community College. I love being involved in the arts and I’m a student officer in two clubs at my school (AIGA and Vernacular). I have a passion for photography, and I was able to work full time at a summer camp last year doing that. I love music and theater and I’m very excited to be a part of the SPAC team this summer!
Kaylee Guelzow
Education Intern
I am from Binghamton, New York, and I am about to enter my second year of college at SUNY Oneonta. I dual major in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and minor in art! I am also involved in an acapella group and the theater club at college. I hope to continue my education after Oneonta and pursue a career in education and arts integration!
Darren Jackson-Wilkins
Programming Assistant
I am originally from Hackensack, NJ but am currently a rising senior at Skidmore College here in Saratoga! At Skidmore, I major in Theater with a concentration in acting and a double minor in Music and Arts Administration. On campus I have served as a Residential Assistant, a Peer Mentor for first year students. I am currently the Arts Head Guide for the Office of Admissions and participate in modeling/voice-over work for the Office of Communications. While the arts are a major part of life, I am also interested in advocacy work. I am a member of Skidmore’s C.R.O.W.N. (Creation of a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) and a Miranda Family Fellow. I just spent the last four months in London training at the British American Drama Academy where I continued to foster my passion for the arts. I am excited to be returning to #TEAMPROGO for a second summer season!
Claire Lanahan
Marketing Assistant
Hi all, I’m local to Clifton Park and in the Fall, I will be a Sophomore at The University of Minnesota. Currently I’m studying Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing with minors in Dance and Journalism. This past year I was involved in a range of activities reflecting my many interests including Women in Business, Student Marketing Association, Economics Student Organization, Minnesota Dance Club, MinnesoTAP, and Entrepreneurship Club. I also held leadership positions as Director of Social Events for the Lambda Chapter of Delta Gamma and as a “Carlson Creator” creating compelling content for the business school’s website and social media platforms. In the future I aspire to work in the Marketing field in the business, fashion, or arts industry specializing in PR and journalism. I would also like to open my own business teaching dance and designing innovative and unique dancewear for C+ cup range dancers to continue furthering the dance industry towards inclusivity of body types.
Grace LaFleche
Executive Assistant
This summer I am working with Austin and Elizabeth as the Executive Assistant Intern at SPAC. I am a rising senior at Connecticut College studying English, American History, and Classical History. At Conn I run on the cross country and track team, am a tutor in our writing center, and am an arts ambassador for incoming students. I grew up in Clifton Park and fell in love with Saratoga at an early age so I’m beyond excited to be a part of the action at SPAC this summer!
Meara LeFevre
Education Intern
I grew up right outside Saratoga, and I am currently a undergrad student at SUNY New Paltz with a double major in Theatre (tech & design) and Sociology, with a deaf studies minor. I am passionate about arts education and theatre, and my career goal is to work in the non-for-profit arts world! I also am passionate about advocacy and volunteering- with a focus on mental health access. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, camping and traveling.
Elliott Nemec
Development Intern
I’ve grown up in Burnt Hills, NY so I am local to the SPAC area! I am currently an arts management major at Suny Purchase in Westchester. While not having much experience with the classical arts, I am a big music person playing in a couple bands in NYC and Upstate NY. I love the arts and plan on working within the arts not for profits going forward as well as pursuing a masters in either arts administration or non-profit management.
Elle Wilcox
Communications Assistant
I am super excited to be joining the SPAC team this summer to further experience the performances and culture I have grown up enjoying as originally being from Saratoga Springs. I just finished up my sophomore year at Ithaca College majoring in finance and journalism and have really enjoyed the research process behind the respective fields and being a part of various co-curriculars, production teams, and publications. I really love event work and feel super thankful to be working with the SPAC happenings. After this summer, I look forward to continuing my time in college and possibly pursuing a career in public relations. I’ve really appreciated my time here so far, and can’t wait to learn more about the people, history, and events of SPAC!
