SPAC celebrates art in all its forms, including visual art, which comes alive in various locations throughout the SPAC campus and via collaborations in the Capital Region. Previous collaborations and exhibitions include:

  • Mark Seliger: SPAC Stories featured portraits by world-renowned photographer Mark Seliger of iconic performers from SPAC’s remarkable history. Ticketed guests for New York City Ballet & The Philadelphia Orchestra are welcome to see the exhibit on performance nights. Celebrated artists from the worlds of jazz, rock, pop, country, opera, classical, and dance were included in this compelling exhibition on view in The Pines.
  • Coppélia 50 celebrated the 50th anniversary of George Balanchine’s Coppélia with a special exhibition showcasing costumes and photos from the world premiere, including costumes worn by ballerinas Patricia McBride, Stephanie Saland, and Marnee Morris; one-of-a-kind children’s costumes from the 1974 premiere; photos from rehearsals at SPAC in advance of the premiere, and additional performance photos from the New York Public Library and legendary dance photographer, Martha Swope.
  • Dance Around Town: A Photographic Celebration with Saratoga Arts and The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery, a citywide collection of dance photographs that showcased the endless energy and triumphant spirit of dance with three dedicated exhibitions by world-renowned artists including Merce My Way by Mikhail Baryshnikov in The Pines at SPAC, Ageless Dancers by Betti Franceschi at Saratoga Arts, and Robert Tracy on Dance at the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College.
  • Chromatic Scales: Psychedelic Design in partnership with the Tang Teaching Museum Collection, which featured more than thirty recently acquired 1960s San Francisco psychedelic rock concert posters designed by artists such as Jim Blashfield, Lee Conklin, and Bonnie MacLean, and the Big Five’s Wes Wilson and Victor Moscoso.
  • A sculpture garden curated by The Hyde Collection by John Van Alstine, considered one of America’s most important sculptors, and photographic works of art created from compostables by Terri-Lynn Pellegri featured at the Saratoga Wine and Food Festival.
