New York City Ballet is one of the foremost dance companies in the world, with a roster of spectacular dancers and an unparalleled repertory. The Company, founded in 1948 by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein, quickly became world-renowned for its athletic and contemporary style. Jerome Robbins joined NYCB the following year and, with Balanchine, helped to build the astounding repertory and firmly establish the Company in New York. The New York City Ballet performed at the opening ceremony for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in 1966 and returns each year for their summer residency.

The Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the world’s greatest orchestras, has a keen ability to capture the hearts and imaginations of its audiences.
Legendary director Eugene Ormandy designed the Saratoga Performing Arts Center amphitheater, which opened in 1966, specifically for the Orchestra. Under the baton of its dynamic Music & Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, also the Music Director of the Metropolitan Opera, the Philadelphia Orchestra continues its longstanding summer residency at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Through its many performances, education programs, recordings, and broadcast activities, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center brings the exhilarating experience of great chamber music to more people than any other organization of its kind. In 2014, under the leadership of co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han, CMS became one of Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s resident companies, presenting a wide variety of concerts that appeal to both connoisseurs and newcomers. The performing artists constitute a multi-generational and international roster of the world’s finest chamber musicians, enabling CMS at SPAC to present chamber music of every instrumentation, style, and historical period.
