A perennial fan-favorite since its performance at SPAC’s grand opening in July 1966, New York City Ballet’s beloved story ballet A Midsummer Night’s Dream returns to mark 60 years of world-class dance and unforgettable summer traditions.

Mozart & Mahler

Opening the evening is Aaron Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man (1943), paired with Joan Tower’s Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman (1986), a contemporary work inspired by Copland and dedicated to conductor Marin Alsop.
The Orchestra then presents the SPAC debut of Mozart’s deeply lyrical Piano Concerto No. 23, featuring pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason in her SPAC and Orchestra debut. Closing the program is Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 1, a sweeping exploration of personal journey and human emotion, rounding out an evening of timeless and powerful works.
Pictures from an Exhibition with Daniele Rustioni

Newly appointed Principal Guest Conductor of The Metropolitan Opera Daniele Rustioni makes his SPAC debut leading Musorgsky’s evocative Pictures from an Exhibition, a work that has thrilled audiences since its 1874 premiere and inspired generations of musicians—including the 1970s rock supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
The program also features Korngold’s soaring Violin Concerto, with celebrated violinist Bomsori Kim making her SPAC and Orchestra debut, and Rossini’s exuberant Overture to Semiramide. Experience this imaginative, powerful music brought vividly to life.
David Kim Leads The Four Seasons

The Philadelphia Orchestra concertmaster and violinist David Kim takes center stage as both leader and soloist in a performance celebrating SPAC’s 60th anniversary theme, Seasons. Featuring beloved and highly recognizable works from the classical repertoire, this program promises to captivate orchestra fans and newcomers alike.
Opening the program is Bach’s serene and timeless Air, from Orchestral Suite No. 3, followed by Mozart’s bright and lyrical Eine kleine Nachtmusik. Anchoring the program is a paired performance of two iconic works: Vivaldi’s pastoral The Four Seasons and the SPAC premiere of Piazzolla’s tango-and-jazz-influenced The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
Gershwin’s An American in Paris

Experience works by American composers with The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by rising star New Zealand conductor Gemma New, making her SPAC debut. The program opens with Montgomery’s Strum for string orchestra, a folk-inspired and layered piece that speaks to the versatility of modern classical music.
GRAMMY Award-winning pianist Michelle Cann also makes her SPAC debut with two works, Ravel’s lush, jazz-influenced Piano Concerto in G major and Florence Price’s once-lost Piano Concerto in One Movement. Closing out the program is Gershwin’s atmospheric An American in Paris, another jazz-inspired piece and an iconic work beloved by concertgoers for nearly a century.
