Position Summary
SPAC Operations Attendants play a critical role in preparing the venue for events by ensuring the grounds, infrastructure, and event spaces are safe, functional, and guest-ready. This role supports event execution through physical setup, breakdown, and logistical assistance across departments, while maintaining the overall appearance and safety of the property. Operations Attendants work collaboratively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment to ensure the venue is clean, organized, and prepared for guests throughout the event season.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure venue is set up and ready for guest arrival (including tents, barricades, tables, chairs, staging elements, and other equipment).
- Setting up venue entry gates with security and crowd management supplies
- Set up and display appropriate marketing signage and materials for each event
- Interact with vendors activating at different events, ensure their setup needs are provided
- Tear down and store equipment after events, ensuring all materials are properly cleaned, organized, and secured.
- Assist with landscaping and other maintenance projects as needed
- Including mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, leaf removal, and general outdoor maintenance.
- Performs maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment.
- For Part-time positions working year-round, this will also include seasonal grounds care, including snow removal, ice management, and winterization of equipment and facilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all guests attending events on the SPAC grounds
- Assist other departments as needed. Collaborate with event operations, security, and management teams to ensure the SPAC venue is prepared for guests.
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
- Practice professional concert and radio etiquette.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery (training provided as needed).
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities or weather conditions.
- Awareness of safety protocols related to outdoor work, equipment use, and event operations.
- Ability to remain alert and safety‑focused around vehicles, equipment, and active event setups.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous event operations, landscaping, and customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for operating venue vehicles or equipment.
Schedule
- As SPAC is a performing art venue with events in the daytime, evening and on weekends, employees must be available to work evenings (at times overnight shifts), holidays, and weekends during our Event Season from late March to October.
- Employees are expected to have reliable transportation to be able to work scheduled shifts. Shift times that will vary based on each scheduled event.
- While employees may not be required to be available for all shifts, employees are expected to be available and work regularly throughout the season.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for prolonged periods; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or crouch.
- The employee frequently is required to climb stairs or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; heavier lifting may be required with team assistance.
Work Environment
- The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, humidity, wind, heat and/or cold.
- Employees are frequently working outdoors on uneven terrain.
