NYCB Children's Access Workshop

Join the artists of NYCB for this movement workshop designed especially for children ages 4-12 with disabilities and/or movement disorders. This one-hour workshop will be co-led by a pair of NYCB dancers and will include a warm-up and choreography inspired by George Balanchine’s enchanting story ballet A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Modifications, including standing and seated movement options, will be offered throughout the event. Young movers of all abilities and their siblings are welcome.   


DETAILS
 

  • Recommended for ages 4-12. No prior dance experience is needed! 
  • This workshop and provided tickets are free to participants! A limited number of spots and complementary tickets are available. 
  • Please come dressed comfortably and ready to move. Leotards, tights, and ballet shoes are not required. 
  • Please bring a bottle of water. A bottle refilling station is available in the school.  
  • Workshop will take place at the SPAC School of the Arts located behind the National Museum of Dance (99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY).
  • Arrival time: Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of the workshop to ensure that you have time to park and sign in.   
  • Please only sign up the participant. Up to three family members/friends will be allowed to accompany each participant. 
  • A parent/guardian should be prepared to participate with their child to offer support throughout the workshop for mobility and stability as needed. 

 

SPAC will give each participant up to 2 complimentary tickets to the 2pm performance of NYCB on Saturday, July 11. Each workshop participant counts as one of the two available tickets. Tickets will be distributed to you at the workshop.
