Every child should have the opportunity to experience the life-enhancing benefits that accompany participation in the arts. With the help of our partners, we strive to fulfill this mission through our outreach initiatives that bring children and families from underserved communities to enjoy classical performances here at SPAC.
Summer Nights at SPAC
Made possible with generous support from The Wright Family Foundation, The Mercer Foundation and Bank of America, the Summer Nights at SPAC program provides transportation, meals, and free amphitheater seating to hundreds of children and family members at select classical performances during the summer season. Working alongside several organizations that provide services to youth and families in Schenectady, we are able to offer unforgettable, first-time experiences with the performing arts that many would not otherwise have the opportunity to afford.
To quote one of our participating youth and family services organizations, “In order to dream, to envision beyond the confines of one’s life, one must have some inkling of what’s ‘out there’ – this program provided that.”
