Program Notes

Join the artists of NYCB on July 16th for this movement workshop at the SPAC School of the Arts designed for individuals with disabilities, followed by the 2pm performance of NYCB’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Saratoga Performing Arts Center!

The free one-hour workshop will be co-led by a pair of NYCB Dancers and will include a warm-up and choreography inspired by NYCB’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Modifications and movement options will be offered throughout, and movers of all abilities and their siblings are welcome.

  • Workshop Start Time: 11:00am
  • Workshop duration: 1 hour
  • Workshop location: SPAC School of the Arts
  • Parking is available in the parking lot next to the museum building
  • Performance Start Time: 2:00pm (gates open at 12pm)
  • Performance Duration: 2 hours
  • Performance Location: Saratoga Performing Arts Center
  • Parking is available in the large parking lot on route 50

Important Information

  • This class is provided for individuals with disabilities.
  • Recommended for ages 5+.
  • No prior dance experience is needed!
  • Please only sign up the participant. Up to three family members/friends will be allowed to accompany each participant to the workshop and the NYCB performance.
  • A caretaker should be prepared to participate with their participant and offer support throughout the workshop in terms of mobility and stability as needed.
  • Please come to the workshop dressed comfortably and ready to move
  • Please bring water
  • Performance Tickets: All tickets are free. Up to four amphitheater tickets are available to each participant.
  • Class will take place at the SPAC School of the Arts located behind the National Museum of Dance, 99 S. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
  • Arrival times: Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of class to ensure that you have time to park and get to the studios

COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate and Guidelines

  • Testing and Proof of Vaccination: Per NY State guidelines, proof of vaccination or a recent negative PCR COVID-19 test (within 72 hours of the workshop) WILL be required for entry to this event.
  • Social Distancing: Attendees must practice safe social distancing
  • Temperature Check: Guests will be required to pass a mandatory temperature check prior to entry.
  • Mask wearing: All participants and guests will be required to wear masks to cover both the nose and mouth at all times in order to protect themselves and others regardless of an individual’s vaccination status or a negative COVID-19 test. Attendees are required to bring their own masks, which we recommend follow CDC guidelines.
  • Stay at home if:
    • You are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, a sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting);
    • You’ve been in close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days;
    • You’ve been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official. Please follow the CDC guidelines and any relevant state travel guidelines;
    • You are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
