ABOUT THE FESTIVAL AND THE NEW VIRTUAL GALLERY SPACE
The Adirondack Trust Company Festival of Young Artists (FOYA) is an annual event held at Saratoga Performing Arts Center that presents an afternoon filled with student art shows, poetry slams, and live performances featuring hundreds of young dancers, singers, and musicians.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of the 2020 festival, SPAC is building an online, curated gallery space to celebrate the work of the students and organizations involved. The new FOYA website will contain collections of student contributions in the forms of literary art, visual art, and the performing arts. This will include photos of visual artworks, audio recordings of poetry readings, and videos of student performances, as well as submitted performance videos from local youth arts organizations the Empire State Youth Orchestra, Capital District Youth Chorale, Northeast Ballet Company, and School of the Arts at the National Museum of Dance.
The new website will be launched on July 8th, and will continue to serve as an ongoing platform for student artists in the region to share their visions and achievements – to inspire and enrich their peers and the community.
To access the new website once it is launched on July 8th, please visit the Creative Connections section on the spac.org landing page.
Please note, the submission process for the initial launch of the FOYA website is now closed, but will open again once the site is launched in July. At that point, students and representatives of school and youth ensembles are encouraged to submit works to be considered for the next FOYA Online Gallery exhibit, which will launch in winter 2021.
