Maestro Denève is the Principal Guest Conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Music Director of The Brussels Philharmonic, and most recently Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony. He was raised in Tourcoing France, home of the composer Albert Roussel. Denève graduated from the Paris Conservatory, winning first prize, and was immediately hired as assistant at the Orchestra National de Lille. He counts Sir George Solti as one of his great mentors. Internationally recognized for refined programming, exquisite performance, and promotion of 21st Century Music, he is also known as a great communicator, making him a SPAC audience favorite.
