Megan Fairchild returned to performing this spring, after the birth of her first child. Ms. Fairchild was promoted to the role of principal dancer just three years after she joined the company. Her steady technique, powerful energy, and clear crisp foot work won her notice early in her career. Some of her leading role ballets are: Balanchine’s Ballo Della Regina, Le Baiser de la Fée, The Nutcracker and Coppélia. She has appeared on Broadway as Ivy Smith (aka Miss Turnstiles) in On the Town for which she received a Theatre World Award. She holds a degree in mathematics and economics from Fordham University.
