Welcome back to SPAC!
We have been hard at work with our resident companies to bring you programming that honors SPAC traditions, while adhering to strict COVID Safety guidelines that will protect the artists and our audiences. As you make your summer plans, we want you to know what to expect when you come to SPAC.
SPAC’s reopening plan was developed based on the mandated guidelines set forth by the Governor’s office and the CDC. In order to ensure the health and safety of everyone at SPAC, we need your participation. Please review the following new policies and procedures that will be part of your experience so we can safely welcome everyone back to the grounds this summer.
Please note that this applies to SPAC-produced events only (Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival, NYCB On and Off Stage, The Philadelphia Orchestra, etc.).
Live Nation will communicate its policies for rock, pop and country concerts separately.
PROOF OF VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST
All guests must present a negative diagnostic test result for COVID-19 using an FDA or DOH authorized PCR Test within 72 hours of the performance/event start time, or using an FDA authorized antigen test (a.k.a. Rapid Test) performed on a specimen collected within 6 hours of the performance/event start time. Alternatively, guests may provide proof of having completed the COVID-19 vaccination series at least 14 days prior to the date of the event (vaccine card or Excelsior Pass). Additionally, each guest must complete a health screening form and temperature check upon entry.
Guests vaccinated at New York State vaccination sites may download the NYS Excelsior Wallet app for expedited check-in:
Guests are required to complete a health screening questionnaire and pass a mandatory temperature check prior to entry. Ticket holders will receive an email at midnight the day prior to the event with a link to complete the screening digitally.
STAY AT HOME GUIDELINES
Stay at home if:
- You are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, a sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting);
- You’ve been in close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days;
- You’ve been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official. Please follow the CDC guidelines and any relevant state travel guidelines;
- You are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
All guests, employees, artists and grounds visitors will be required to wear masks to cover both the nose and mouth at all times (except when eating or drinking in designated seating spaces) in order to protect themselves and others regardless of an individual’s vaccination status or a negative 72-hour COVID-19 test. Attendees are required to bring their own masks, which we recommend follow CDC guidelines.
HAND WASHING & SANITIZING
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Hand sanitizer will be widely available on the SPAC grounds.
There will be secure, contactless mobile ticketing for 2021, which will reduce physical touch points on the grounds. More traditional ticket delivery options will also be available. Unless absolutely necessary, tickets must be purchased in advance so the venue can make the necessary preparations in order to uphold NYS COVID-19 guidelines. There will be no additional fees for online ticket purchases (excluding Live Nation concerts), unless you choose to have tickets delivered by mail. The box office will open for the season for in-person and phone sales beginning Monday, June 21 at noon, however prices will increase for same-day sales.
SPAC will create and enforce policies to limit crowd density through physical distancing, capacity reduction and/or the elimination of gatherings in small spaces.
Box offices and entry gates will be reconfigured to reduce congestion. Foot traffic patterns will also be modified to limit queuing or crowding at the box offices, gates, food service areas, and restrooms.
All performances will take place in the open-air amphitheater and lawn on the SPAC grounds, unless otherwise noted. SPAC staff and security will monitor for noncompliance of these policies. Guests not following these policies will be asked to comply or leave the premises.
SEATING & PERFORMANCE PROTOCOLS
We are reducing the seating capacity in the amphitheater and on the lawn. Seating in the amphitheater will be physically distanced by maintaining empty seats between parties. Ticketholders on the lawn will have the opportunity to select a designated pod upon purchase to ensure appropriate distances between guests.
Unless otherwise noted, programs will not exceed 80 minutes and will be presented without intermission.
For events in the amphitheater, guests will be assigned a parking lot based on seat location, which will be specified on each ticket. Patron-level members and above with a parking tag may still park in the Patron’s Parking Lot, behind the Saratoga Automobile Museum.
If you are picking up your tickets at the Route 50 Box Office will-call, you are permitted to park in the Route 50 Parking Lot (Lot P).
All restrooms will be monitored to maintain COVID-19 safety standards for social distancing and airflow. SPAC will also use enhanced cleaning protocols in accordance with all standard CDC recommendations.
FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE
SPAC will limit the availability of concessions on site and will communicate food and beverage options for each performance. If available, food and beverages can only be consumed while seated in your designated pod. Only factory sealed water bottles and essential personal items will be permitted onsite.
OTHER WAYS WE’RE MAKING SPAC SAFE
Staff will take part in rigorous training to ensure familiarity with all safety protocols and procedures, and to provide for safe patron compliance. Staff and artists will also follow COVID-19 protocols with regular health screenings, universal mask wearing and compliance with physical distancing requirements.
